How We Work
]
A SER is an institute with the mission to transform the future by strengthening community-based organizations, especially in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil, and by monitoring and evaluating the impact of projects and programs. To do this, we work directly with local NGOs, building a knowledge network to amplify their impact and, together with funds, analyzing the results of donated resources.
Our team has experience in the third sector, the corporate world, and public institutions. And because we understand different perspectives, we co-create effective solutions capable of promoting a fairer, more inclusive, and more diverse society, by supporting organizations that fight to ensure rights in their communities.

How We See
]
VISION:
CHANGING THE FUNDING LANDSCAPE FOR BRAZIL, THROUGH GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS IN THE NORTH AND NORTHEAST.
Positive social transformation toward a more sustainable and equitable future is only possible when we equip, prepare, and support those on the front lines, making things happen.
MISSION:
Shaping the future through the strengthening of community-based organizations, especially in the North and Northeast regions, and through the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of projects and programs.
20 years making history.

OUR TIMELINE
]
For these 20 years, we have been guided by our mission to promote local development through the strengthening of grassroots community organizations and the monitoring and evaluation of the socio-environmental impact of projects and programs.

[2015]
SER becomes the first B Corp in the Northeast
[2020]
Amid the pandemic context, SER reaffirmed its leadership and launched an ongoing partnership with Fundo Casa Socioambiental, delivering the first Best Practices Workshops, which would continue through 2026. It also expanded its engagement with the impact business movement, becoming the official representative of Sistema B in Bahia and taking responsibility for its growth and for strengthening the B community in the state.
[2021]
SER is strengthening its work across multiple fronts: it carries out impact monitoring for the Casa Amazônia Program, supports quilombola communities in developing projects in partnership with CLUA, and reinforces ties with Black and peripheral culture by supporting the institutional strengthening of Ilê Aiyê. It also launches an incubation program in partnership with Startei, expanding the impact ecosystem in Bahia.
[2023]
A year of strengthening expertise in monitoring and impact evaluation. SER conducted evaluations for the Casa Amazônia Program and the Afro Business Folia project, while also supporting socio-environmental communication initiatives and efforts to drive transformation through culture. It deepened partnerships with foundations such as Toyota, reaffirming its position as a leading reference in impact evaluation.
[2026]
SER kicks off 2026 with projects that reinforce its journey of grassroots strengthening: it supports the institutional strengthening of Indigenous organizations such as Univaja and APIAM in the Amazon, coordinates initiatives with urban waste pickers in partnership with Caixa Econômica Federal, and advances its territorial impact agenda across multiple biomes.
